Joe Grieco

Drive-In

Let’s climb in the back seat so we can hug.

I’m just sick about you leaving.

I can’t hug you when you’re gone.

There’s no hugging long distance.

No touching. No kissing.

Not even a peck on the cheek.

No body heat.

No wrapping in each other’s arms,

Then unwrapping,

Making room for the abundance, the warm,

Room to breathe.

Who knew we were capable of such repair?

Such cure.

You best hug me now.
