The Sled

I had a car we called “The Sled.”

It had no shocks and would slam down

on speed bumps.

It made it to 300,000 miles,

but I remember one time,

toward the end,

I was dropping my friend off

at his house

and he lives on

a small hill.

We pulled to the

bottom of the hill

and The Sled

tried its hardest to make it up,

but couldn’t.

I told my friend, “You have to walk

from here.”
